Silverado Hospice Los Angeles is comprised of a group of associates and volunteers united with the purpose of providing comfort and dignity to those at the end of life’s journey. It’s our belief that everyone deserves a good quality of life, and by providing personalized medical, social and spiritual care we give patients a chance to experience life to the fullest and allow their families to create cherished memories.
Our desire to bring the beauty of hospice care to patients and their families has inspired a team of nearly 75 volunteers who aid our associates in providing comfort, fulfilling wishes and giving companionship. From helping patients celebrate birthdays with a homemade cake to letting them relive the music and movies they fondly remember, our volunteers recognize the beauty in providing a noble end to life’s journey and are very proud to be part of the best hospice care in Los Angeles.

Suzanne joins Silverado Hospice with over 38 years of healthcare experience, including 15 years in hospice. She began her career in hospice as a bedside and admissions nurse. Since then, she’s learned the regulatory and business side to hospice, while keeping the vision of providing compassionate and loving service at the forefront of all her endeavors.
“To me, solid hospice care is of the utmost importance and Silverado aims to provide both a high quality and caring experience for our patients and their families – with an ongoing understanding that love is greater than fear,” shares Suzanne.

Medical Director
Dr. Anil Hanuman DO, SFHM, FACP is a healthcare executive with 20 years of experience specializing in seniors. He recently cofounded Giatros Health and serves as CMO. Giatros Health is physician lead organization based in Montebello, CA focusing on delivering the highest quality care for seniors. Previously he was the West CMO of CareMore, based in Cerritos, CA.
Dr. Hanuman is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care. He has a passion to deliver care that focuses on quality of life to patients with advanced illness. He has helped start a Palliative Care program at St. Jude and served as Associate Medical Director at St. Joseph’s Hospice.
Dr. Hanuman completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Southern California and has over 20 years of experience as a practicing Hospitalist. He resides in South Pasadena with his wife and two young children. He is excited to help the great team at Silverado Hospice Los Angeles.

Dr. Ghazarian is a board certified family physician practicing in Glendale and surrounding areas. He has been in private practice since 2003, and has been a part-time attending physician with Family Practice Residency Program of Adventist health Glendale since 2004. He is also an adjunct assistant professor of medicine with Midwestern University.
Dr. Ghazarian has been the chairman of the department of family medicine at Adventist Health Glendale since 2010. He is currently the medical director of the medical, surgical, and telemetry units at Adventist Health Glendale overseeing the medical and nursing management of over 180 hospital beds. Dr. Ghazarian is also the cofounder, medical director, and vice president of the Glendale Community Free Health Clinic since 2005, a completely free health clinic serving the homeless and uninsured.
Dr. Ghazarian is very passionate about geriatric care and end of life care. He has been an Associate Medical Director with Silverado Hospice since 2008, helping provide end of life care in a compassionate and caring manner.

Jaimie comes to Silverado with more than a decade of hospice experience, encompassing both direct patient care and managerial roles. She currently serves as the State Ambassador for the Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses Association, fulfilling her commitment in advocating for positive change in hospice related legislation for the benefit of the community.
Jaimie is deeply dedicated to hospice care and ensuring that patients and their loved ones receive personalized, compassionate support. She firmly believes that hospice represents the highest quality of healthcare accessible to all, and everyone should have the opportunity to receive the same level of care, love and attention that hospice provides.

For the past decade, Isabella has gained firsthand experience in a variety of healthcare settings and different roles ranging from CNA, LVN and RN. Her journey with the Silverado family started in 2019, where she joined Silverado Beach Cities Memory Care Community as a LVN Charge Nurse. While working at the community, Isabella was able to experience the Silverado Hospice team’s hands-on approach to providing comfort-focused care to residents. Since then, she has always admired Silverado’s mission and the exceptional care provided to residents living with dementia. In 2021, Isabella took a brief hiatus to pursue experience in acute care. After two years, she returned to Silverado Hospice as an RN Case Manager.
“I must say, this has been my favorite nursing role yet. Bringing comfort to patients and families through compassionate care and education on death has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my nursing career thus far,” shares Isabella.

Laly has been a part of the Silverado team since 2016. She has been practicing in the field of social work for almost 10 years. Laly is an Arizona State graduate, where she earned her Masters in social work with an emphasis on Gerontology. She believes her passion of working with the elderly stemmed from volunteering in nursing homes as a teenager. Laly’s love of social work developed when she served for AmeriCorps. She is wholeheartedly dedicated to the philosophy of hospice and wishes it was incorporated in other countries. Laly dedicates her work to her late grandmother who lived in Mexico, who she believes would have found hospice care to be a great blessing.

Originally from Germany, Renate graduated from art school and worked in children’s books and animation before deciding to pursue nursing as a way to have a direct impact on people’s lives. Renate considers Silverado Hospice is one of her “homes away from home.” “Silverado gave me a chance as a newly graduated RN with a passion for hospice,” she says of coming to the company after graduating from nursing school at 50 years old. Since starting work in hospice Renate has worked as a case manager, on-call and admissions nurse. Renate speaks with pride of the “love, gratitude and respect for all my dedicated coworkers at Silverado who serve their patients with their hearts and souls.”
In her free time Renate enjoys working in her garden, cooking, swimming, painting and drawing. She shares a house with her cats Ringo and Lola (left to her by one of her patients), and her beloved husband Paul.

Mariela Lazo was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She attended the school “Virgo Potens” (Lima) of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. In school she discovered her passion to serve the most vulnerable with, as she states, “humility, love, and compassion driven by my love to God.” Mariela has experienced hospice and Alzheimer in her family and would love to educate and guide families in these difficult times.
Mariela feels very identify and proud of the human kindness from her coworkers. Mariela work at Silverado as CHHA, On-Call nurse, Admission nurse and now RNCM since 2013.
Mariela enjoys cooking, watching soccer games (her favorite player is her son), family time, hiking and being member of Angels of Charity and Music-doing medical mission once a year to help those in need, and would like to be able to do more mission trips, in the future

Jesus Parcasio joined Silverado Hospice in September of 2012. He brought 12 years of experience in pastoral ministry as an ordained catholic priest. Jesus has a big heart for people in need especially the sick and elderly. He realized his love and passion for Hospice way back from his seminary years. He was an infirmarian for several years caring for sick seminarians. During the weekends he would visit patients in hospital and homes as his apostolate. This passion continued until he became priest. As a pastor in different parishes he was always ready to attend his parishioners spiritual needs. For him working in Hospice is a blessing and a gift.

Griselda joined the Silverado Hospice team in 2018 as the receptionist serving the L.A and Ventura office. Soon after, she was promoted to the medical records department, where she has rapidly developed a wealth of knowledge regarding hospice.
Griselda is thrilled to be a part of the team, commenting “All I could say is that I am truly grateful for this opportunity to be working for such a great program!” She added “I am content to know how WE as a Team are helping so many people every day. Makes my job worth it, and wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Juliet Laschiazza started with Silverado Hospice in 2009 as a volunteer who visited and provided companionship to patients. In 2013, Juliet received an offer to join Silverado Hospice as a receptionist, but was soon promoted to handling medical records as a patient care coordinator. This experience provided a unique insight and knowledge of how a Hospice operates, both from the patients’ point of view as well as the administrative point of view. In 2016, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer and was admitted to Silverado Hospice, Juliet became not only her caregiver, but a volunteer as well. As such, she now has personal experience of being on the receiving end of Hospice’s services. This is invaluable in her job as the Volunteer Coordinator, especially in assisting family members.

Dominique joined the Silverado Hospice team in 2020. She comes with over 10 years of experience in both Hospice and Home Health. Dominique has a background in payroll, human resources and business administration.
After watching her great-grandmother transition while on hospice, she knew it was her calling to work in this field. “It brought comfort to my family and I knowing what to expect.” Dominique’s passion is to assist others in need and to pay it forward.

Medicare Quality Ranking
Hospice providers are all ranked by the federal government on a range of quality indicators. We are proud to have earned score of 99.5% (vs. the California average of 91.8%) on the vitally important Hospice Item Set (HIS) Comprehensive Assessment Measure. This score is derived from a composite of 7 HIS care process measures that show if hospice staff completed a range of important steps when a patient was admitted to hospice care:
- Asked patients about their treatment preferences and beliefs & values
- Checked to see if patients were in pain
- Thoroughly assessed patients in pain
- Checked to see if patients had shortness of breath
- Began treating patients with shortness of breath, and
- Offered care for constipation for patients taking opioids
