July is UV Awareness Month
August 2, 2023

Being vigilant in wearing sunscreen can help against UV radiation damage.
Since July is UV Awareness month, we remind you to guard yourself and loved ones against overexposure to UV radiation from the sun, even artificial sources, such as tanning beds that damage the DNA inside skin cells.
Too much exposure significantly increases risks for developing skin cancers like including melanoma, the deadliest form. We encourage daily application of sunscreen with a SPF of 15 or higher. While wearing sunscreen alone is not enough to protect from UV damage. knowing when UV radiation is at its highest (between 10am and 4pm) and staying inside are the greatest defense against DNA damage and increased risks for developing skin cancer due to over exposure.
