Forever A Dancer

It was a cloudy and cool Friday afternoon in November, but that wasn’t going to get in the way of those who cared for Patricia Lenier in the final stage of her life from celebrating her life. Silverado Hospice and our long term facility partner The Villages of Lake Highlands were partners in caring for Patricia, who was one of the first residents of The Villages to need the care of Silverado Hospice.

People who met Patricia couldn’t help but love her – she still possessed the physical frame of a ballerina, and she radiated kindness. Despite living with the challenges of dementia, she was always welcoming and and eager to share. Even when she couldn’t put her enthusiasm into words, she would lead friends new and old by the arm to see her room and share in the pride of the pink and beautiful things she had collected over the years.

Everyone from The Villages and Silverado Hospice who had the privilege and honor to care for Patricia was truly moved by the impression she made on their lives, and cherished the opportunity to say farewell to this very special woman.
