Silverado Hospice Assists Families and Patients in Need with a Ramp for Their Home

March 23, 2015

At Silverado, we are fully committed to providing the best care to all of those we serve, often providing assistance to people who are in need and who we can help. At the beginning of the year, a family voiced to their nurse that our patient was having trouble and needed assistance getting in and out of his home. The patient is wheelchair-bound, but the only way into and out of the home involved going up and down the steps outside.

The family was unable to provide the resources needed in order to build a ramp for the patient to be able to leave the home. When the Dallas/Fort Worth team learned of this, they were quick to get on board, get on the phones, and find help and supplies for the family.

Because of the work of the hospice team, the patient is now able to leave his home, go outdoors and get back to church where he truly wants to be. This is just one of the many stores that happens at Silverado Hospice every day. The patients and their families comfort and happiness is an important part of why the hospice team does what they do.
