Hospice Patient Vow Renewal

April 1, 2014

Celebrating 50 years of love and dedication

Silverado Hospice, Los Angeles and Silverado Sierra Vista held a very special wedding ceremony to fulfill the dying wish of a patient and her husband. The couple had been married for fifty years and dreamed of expressing their love and dedication to one another through a vow renewal ceremony that could be shared with their adoring family.

The ceremony was held at sunset in the gazebo, where both the resident and her husband spent many afternoons together. Family, friends, and associates were present to witness this beautiful ceremony. The bride and groom came down the aisle with music provided by a live mariachi band and everyone was beautifully attired in the bride’s favorite color, red, with matching flowers all around. The wedding ceremony was conducted by Jesus Parcasio, our Hospice Spiritual Counselor.

During the ceremony the bride became very weak and had to have her daughter finish her vows. This ceremony was especially touching because it allowed these two people the gift of expressing their eternal love for one another.
