Third Year for Billy’s Kids

Silverado Hospice brings Christmas to three local children

Two years ago Silverado Hospice North Houston was inspired to adopt four kids through the Salvation Army Angel Tree.

Billy Schindler, a former patient, had volunteered ringing bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas for many years. He did it because he loved to make people smile. 2014 was his last Christmas and his last time ringing bells.

We at North Houston were so inspired by him we adopted four children from the Salvation Army Christmas Tree and spread the joy!  We decided we would do this every year and call the event “Billy’s Kids” in his name.

This Christmas was the third year for Billy’s Kids. We were “Secret Santas” for three local boys this year. We did our best to spoil them for at least one day of the year. This event is one of our favorite events to do together each year. It is a great cause and a wonderful memory of a good man!
