Congresswoman Susan Davis Meets With Hospice San Diego Team

Silverado Hospice San Diego associates met with Congresswoman Susan Davis to discuss the HELP hospice act. The HELP Hospice Act would (1) require the Secretary to establish a payment reform demonstration program to test and evaluate any prospective payment revisions to hospice, (2) increase hospice survey frequency to every 3 years, and (3) amend the new face-to-face encounter requirement to reflect operational realities for hospice programs, and the needs of the patients and families they serve.

The Silverado team discussed all aspects of the bill with Congresswoman Susan Davis. Mrs. Davis was unclear on financial aspects and cost savings but with the help of the Silverado team, they were able to clarify some of the Congresswoman’s questions.
